Animal Rangler, Robert Irwin Shares Australia Zoo ‘Highlight’ Connected To Pops Steve.

"Robert Irwin recently introduced a new resident to the Australia Zoo who has a connection to his late father Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter.

The 19-year-old, who’s the spitting image of his beloved father, explained in a viral TikTok video how this is “one of the most special moments ever” for the zoo and an emotional one for him.

Robert documented the Australia Zoo’s big moment on video and shared it to his TikTok page where more than 13 million people have viewed it in just two days.

“This is one of the highlights of my entire life and one of the most special moments ever for Australia Zoo,” he said as he held a tiny turtle in his hand.

“This is the very first Elseya Irwin’s turtle ever hatched for any zoological facility anywhere in the world. This species is a turtle that Dad originally discovered out in the wild. And for the first time, we’ve got a little baby.”

As Robert talked about the new addition, he held him over his brand-new pond so he could take his first swim. He then gently lowered the baby turtle into the water and emotionally watched as he swam around.

“It’s just so surreal, and all the stories from Dad about just how amazing and beautiful they are,” he continued. “I don’t get emotional that much. My dad would be stoked to that.”

The comment section quickly filled up with nearly 13,000 positive and emotional responses to the video from Irwin family fans.

“Your Dad is SO STOKED with the absolutely beautiful legacy his family has carried on in his name. I get choked up every time I see Steve Irwin’s old film,” one person wrote. Another added, “The greatest legacy Steve Irwin left was his amazing kids. They seem to have the same love and compassion for the world as he did. It’s beautiful.”

One follower talked about the emotion behind the video saying, “‘I don’t get emotional that much.’ Well, I cry at every single one of your videos.”

Another fan pointed out that Steve’s kids are carrying on his legacy, “All Steve wanted was his kids to understand his love for animals and conservation. Both of his kids are doing exactly what he dreamed of.”

One fan suggested a name for the newest addition to the Australia Zoo writing, “Name him Steve.”" - TheBlast.com

Wow. This was a special moment. I think Dad would be pretty proud that we’ve become the first to successfully breed the turtle that he discovered. A rare, and unique species under threat in the wild has just been given a second chance.
