INYIM Media "Back To The Future" Edition: Salutes Iconic 90s/'00s TV Candy, Behind the Music, Unplugged, Yo! MTV Raps! Coming To Paramount+....

"A host of classic MTV and VH1 shows are getting new lives — not on the cable network, but on ViacomCBS' streaming platform Paramount+.

The streamer is set to debut a new Road Rules competition and an all-star edition of The Challenge. RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars will also move to Paramount+ from VH1. They'll join an unscripted roster that includes the previously announced The Real World Homecoming: New York and a drag singing competition titled Queen of the Universe.

Additionally, new iterations of the Ink Master franchise (most recently on Paramount Network) and Dating Naked (formerly of VH1) are on tap for the streamer.

Classic MTV and VH1 music franchises Behind the Music, Yo! MTV Raps and Unplugged are also getting an update at Paramount+, and the streamer has ordered a new series from Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl titled From Cradle to Stage.

The myriad revivals are in keeping with a broader strategy at Paramount+ parent ViacomCBS to mine its IP library for updates of well-known titles. The streamer will also be home to a revival of classic sitcom Frasier and scripted series based on Paramount movies Love Story, The Italian Job and Fatal Attraction, among others.

"We are thrilled to re-invent some of our most storied and impactful music franchises, including Behind the Music and Yo! MTV Raps, for Paramount+," said Bruce Gilmer, president music, music talent, programming & events at ViacomCBS. "In addition, we will partner with some of the biggest names across the music industry to bring exclusive and unique content to the platform, such as Dave Grohl’s Cradle to Stage based on his mom's critically-acclaimed book, and many more to come."

From Cradle to Stage is based on From Cradle to Stage: Stories from the Mothers Who Rocked and Raised Rock Stars by Virginia Hanlon Grohl. The show will explore the relationships between famous musicians and their moms, with each episode focusing on a different mom and child.

Behind the Music, which ran from 1997-2014, was once VH1's signature franchise. The new version will still feature deep-dive profiles of artists and bands (including remastered versions of prior installments) with an updated visual style.

Yo! MTV Raps was the first hip hop-focused show on MTV, running from 1988-95 with initial host Fab Five Freddy and later Doctor Dré and Ed Lover. Hosts for the new show haven't been named yet.

Unplugged, featuring stripped-down performances by top artists, debuted on MTV in 1989 and has continued off and on into the present. The most recent edition, featuring K-Pop superstars BTS, aired on Tuesday.

Like its predecessor, which ran from 1995-2007, Road Rules will feature contestants traveling from place to place in an RV, with clues, odd jobs and money-earning missions guiding the way. The Challenge: All Stars will bring together 22 players from the original Real World and Road Rules for a chance to test their skills (and ability to form and keep relationships) and win $500,000.

Drag Race All Stars will continue giving the top Drag Race queens a shot at $100,000 and the hall of fame. RuPaul's Drag Race producer World of Wonder is also behind Queen of the Universe, which will feature drag queens from around the world in a singing competition." - Hollywoodreporter.com
