"The time when people from the cinema and people from television never came together is more than over. In the past, the magic box turned out to be the perfect refuge for actors whose stardom status was beginning to fade and were looking for a great last lead role.

Now that idea seems like a joke. The tables have turned and the streaming platforms are the new sheriff in town. Steven Soderbergh, the Wachoswkys Sisters, or even Jane Campion have dared to enter to this new paradise for filmmakers and movie stars. Now it is the turn of the acclaimed Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, who accumulates nominations for the Oscars or the Bafta and standing ovations at Cannes and Venice.

His first immersion in the world of television deals with his favorite subject: a sentimental education. In “I am love”, that emotional journey was developed through an extramarital affair, in “Call me by your name” the channel was a summer romance and in “Suspiria” was magic and witchcraft. All those movies tell different stories but in each one of them, the protagonist embarks on a journey of self-discovery. This time, in the miniseries “We Are Who We Are”, a group of teenagers are the chosen ones to conduct this coming-of-age adventure. “We are who we are” tells the story of Fraser Wilson, who at the age of fourteen, moves with his two mothers, to an American military base located in Veneto, north of Italy.

There he will meet Caitlin Poythress, a rebellious young girl who will introduce him to the small microcosm of the base, where love, friendship and passion are very much present. Jack Dylan Grazer is the actor who gives life to Fraser. This young movie star has become one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood, having garnered great acclaimed for his roles in blockbusters such as “It” and “Shazam”, where he has shown to be capable of dealing with drama, terror and comedy offering a great dose of charisma and strong performances at the same time.

He is accompanied by Chloë Sevigny, a legendary fashion icon and a prominent figure in the independent film scene, who plays the role of a committed colonel and Fraser’s mother. Released on September 14th on HBO, the eight-episode miniseries have received a very positive reception from critics who have once again surrendered to Guadagnino’s delicate script, the careful aesthetics and the performances of the cast, led by Grazer."
