Nas Unleashes Vital “Cops Shot the Kid” Musique Video Featuring Slick Rick!

With a stellar beat and even more electrifying lyrical thesis, Nas unleashed the honest and sobering single “Cops Shot the Kid”. The musique video's thematic video shows thee unfortunate realities of police brutality and how it ultimately affects all communities. The opening depicts Nas walking on a beach as clips of police dogs barking and dead men flash in and out. Thee all too real disturbing images impeccably set the narrative, showcasing various black men in different scenarios.

Thee infectious beat is a yummy feature from Slick Rick sonically while he also happens to make a cameo in the video. “Cops Shot the Kid” is a sampled of Slick Rick’s 1988 ’s tune entitled “Children’s Story”. One of our favorite's from Nas' 2018 release "Nasir."

Back in a November Rolling Stone conducted an interview with Rick where he spilled the following tea about the controversial groundbreaking number.

“I wasn’t concentrating on police brutality. That wasn’t the direction I was going in. The basis of the story was just to be entertaining, gritty… It’s like we trying to intrigue your peers with a story that should draw them in. It’s almost like how Kevin Hart draws you in with his stories. Kevin Hart stories could be written in rap to you know? It’s not a one-two joke. It’s a longer procedure. It walks you to the joke for like about two to three minutes. Kevin Hart could take a joke and make it stretch into five minutes.”

There you have it carebears, so get right into the rap-groove and sway with us as thee uptempo track spills the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth!
