Goldfrapp – “Ocean” Featuring Dave Gahan

Alright, all you devoted honey rockers, favorite UK electro-pop duo Goldfrapp last year unleashed their album "Silver Eye," they're first in four years. The record closed with a track entitled “Ocean,” a  moody synthpop gem that was eventually released as a single. Now this summer season, Goldfrapp will unleash a deluxe edition of Silver Eye. Adding a couple of bonus tracks.  One of those tunes is a new updated version of “Ocean!”

Now the featured vocals is what has gotten our knickers in a bind. The new remix comes from thee incomparable sexy rock god himself, Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan!

The opening of “Ocean” in its origin sounded like a  Depeche Mode tinged melody already. Gahan just added his sugar on top of expertise of over 40 years in the entertainment business. In all his moody phrasing and glorifying delivery, David and frontwoman Alison Goldfrapp have impeccably showcased what it means to make beautiful music in all its many layers and reinventions. The on-record chemistry is uncanny. One would say Goldfrapp along with countless other bands has from the early 2000's indie-electro-dance-alternative-soul music "club kid" scene. The 2.0 version derived from the original Club Kid/New Romantics discotech scene generation (1980's-1990s).

Alison Goldfrapp will most definitely metamorphosize into an indie legacy-legend musician. It's what we like to refer to non-commercial underground artists who nonetheless have influenced, shaped, ground broke the music culture scene taking just a more under the radar route.

Without further ado carebears, dig out Goldfrapp and Dave Gahan's dark and electrifying "Ocean".
