While we opt to wear the least possible clothing while sleeping we would never pass the opportunity for a pajama party with Mr. Marc and Leon!
When we saw the luxe-louche looks that came down Marc Jacobs’s fall runway, we thought it was the chicest pajama party ever–which, as it turns out, was exactly what Marc was in the mood for. The designer usually prefers a kilt or a sheer lacy dress for events, but he switched it up this season by wearing PJs for his runway finale walks. This did not go unnoticed by Vogue‘s Andre Leon Talley, himself a proponent of comfortable luxury. “So it’s pajamas this season as opposed to the man dress?” Talley asks Jacobs backstage. Now, lest we get it twisted, Jacobs’s pajamas aren’t the run-of-the-mill flannel pair your grandma gave you for Christmas. Obviously. Jacobs is quick to point out that the jammies he wore to the Marc by Marc Jacobs show were by his preferred man-dress brand Comme des Garçons. The fancier silk ones he wore to his Marc Jacobs finale were Prada. “What is the most decadent thing anybody could ever do?” proposes Jacobs. “Get all dressed up, do their makeup, and stay at home.” See what Talley and Jacobs have to say on luxury loungewear below:
