Did you know Vogue wss not issued in the Netherlands? Neither did we but today we found out it has been launched in that far off country.
Well, it’s finally here. Dutch Vogue has unveiled the cover for its very first issue, featuring (from left to right) models Romee Strijd, Ymre Stiekema and Josefien Rodermans, all shot by Marc DeGroot. Rumors were swirling late last year that Condé Nast was planning on adding a Dutch iteration of The Fashion Bible to its roster. The existence of the glossy was confirmed in November, and former Glamour Netherlands editor Karin Swernik was named Editor-in-Chief.
For a first cover, we gotta say, the styling is less dramatic than we had hoped (and very Easter Egg basket-y). And where’s Lara Stone? Or Doutzen Kroes? Or Saskia de Brauw? One would think that for their flagship issue, Dutch Vogue would tap one of the biggest Dutch models in the world!
Still, the bright colors and cool pastels definitely capture the mood of the season, and Ymre’s “smoking gun” pose is admittedly badass.
