Andrej Pejic Doesn’t Want To Be Compared To Lea T

Pretty boy (maybe the prettiest boy?) Andrej Pejic is undoubtedly one of the top models of 2011. He’s worked for some of the best names in the biz but he’s not resting on his laurels. He sat down with Vogue UK (via fashionista.com) to talk inspiration, the inevitable comparisons to transgender model Lea T, and which photographers he’d love to work with next.
On Lea T:

“There are similarities between myself and Lea T, and we’re placed in the same category, but our look is very different. Lea has been extremely brave in being very honest about her journey – but I don’t really see myself as being here to challenge transgender stereotypes. I’m just myself. It’s taken a while to be taken seriously, but I hope to prove that I’m very versatile and that I’ll still be here after the phenomenon has passed.”

On models he loved while growing up:

“Growing up I loved Kristen McMenamy. Shalom Harlow too, and Naomi of course. I really admire them and what they were able to do. They’re skillful models, and they all fought to be taken seriously.”

On photographers he wants to work with:

“I’d love to work with Terry Richardson – that would be cool; Mario Sorrenti; and Testino, of course. I love to work with people who are great at what they do.”
Our heads might explode thinking about what Terry Richardson could come up with for Andrej.
