Jean-Michel Basquiat

Jean-Michel Basquiat was not only an artist who trail blazed the graffiti art movement starting in the late 70s but he was a kind of poet. His works were made-up of "words or phrases all which Jean-Michel signed by SAMO.

It was the 1980s and Basquiat had completed numerous art exhibits by the beginning of the decade. What truly makes him stellar in our eyes, is the fact that his work, unknowingly, became the innovation of the Neo-expressionist art movement.

With his own art-work behind him, Jean-Michel Basquiat's look in the photo above is comprised of a spiffy suit and Wayfarers. The dreadlocks showcased just another side of his creative vibe. We just have to say that his locks are pretty wicked looking.

"This is from the final episode of State of the Art, a series of documentaries about the visual arts in the 1980s."

"Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat, filmed in 1986."

Program TV Party in 1979. Extremely rare.
