“I’m asking you to support the Healthy School Meals Act of 2010,” Scarlett wrote. “It is our responsibility, as adults, to give school children the nutrients and vitamins they so vitally need, especially during school hours where their food intake may be monitored.

“I am so thankful that the National School Lunch Program exists and helps children around the nation get enough to eat. But right now, many of the foods served through this program do not support children’s healthy development,” she added.

The Healthy School Meals Act rewards school districts that offer plant-based vegetarian food choices to a vast number of students.

As adults we usually dont eat as well as we should. Maybe im speaking on a more personal level here BUT the welfare of children's food intake is under our complete control as a nation. Having nephews who are truly dear to my soul(Danny and Sonny :), you can imagine how vital and serious I believe this concern is. We may not be able to change the world, but you can start one at a time, starting with the ones you care for ;)
