Dior Ball in Madrid

"Yesterday, the House of Dior reopened its women’s and accessories store, located in the heart of the Salamanca district at Calle Ortega y Gasset 6 (Madrid). To celebrate the opening, a masked ball was held in the magnificent Palacio de los Duques de Santoña, at which guests explored traditional and contemporary house themes of superstition and tarot in an opulent and dreamlike setting that seemed drawn directly from a surreal fairytale." -

NEW FACE: Andrii Zaporozhets

Name? Andrew Zaporoz.

Age? 22.

Hometown? Kiev, Ukraine.

The best thing about/to do in your hometown? The coolest thing is going the rave parties. A lot of people come visit the city to buy clothes from second-hand outlets, too!

How did you get into modeling? A photographer spotted me in the shopping mall.

Were you interested in fashion before you started modeling? LOL.. ..even now I’m not that interested. I have to be honest with you, I’ve never bought a fashion magazine in my whole life.

What would you be doing if you weren’t modeling? I graduated one year ago. I would be doing marketing, exactly what I like.

What are you most looking forward to being a model? ..wanna try Paris and live there for a while.

Favorite designers or clothing brand? Obviously, the best designer is Гоша Рубчинский. He takes an inspiration from Russian down-town culture. I think this man changed the entire fashion world. Btw, I would never buy Гоша clothes: I can easily find all these kinda stuff in my father’s wardrobe, LOL.

Tell us something about your style: I like old-fashioned clothes, I like to look 80’s.

Most loved possession in your wardrobe? I have a cool black Japanese-style jacket; it’s a gift from the great designer Fillip Roth, from Poland.

How long does it take you to get ready each day/grooming regime? I’m as fast as thunder. I can wake up after a night spent in a club and be ready in just 5 minutes…

Most spontaneous/difficult/strange thing you’ve ever done? Once I attended a party, me and my friends made ourselves tattoos with ink and needles.. we have weird pictures of our bodies!

What do you do in your spare time? In my spare time, I’m trying to develop my curiosity and knowledge: I’m reading some Russian classic books and learning foreign languages (but fortunately you’ll review this interview, LOL). Sometimes I also go to some exhibitions or museums!

How often do you exercise/play sport? I go swimming 2 times a week.

What sport do you like doing? Swimming and cycling; I can’t go cycling anymore at the moment since someone, a $&#§%, stole my bike.

Favorite music/band? Nirvana is the best!

Most played song on your playlist? 3005 – Childish Gambino. Even now it’s playing while I’m answering these questions.

Favorite movie? Exit through the gift shop – Banksy.

Favorite book? War and Peace – Leo Tolstoy.

Describe yourself in 3 words: Lazy. Punctual. Shy.

Last but not least, if you were an animal, which one would you be? A jackal: they have a funny laugh and they also live in groups and eat everything, just like me.

Victor von Schwarz: Doble Vida

"Spanish designer Victor von Schwarz presents his new collection featuring Kai Landre captured by Xavi Prat for lookbook images. Doble Vida (Double Life) is a personal collection based in the moment that many of us young designers are going through now.

With a good acceptance by the press, the public, and the institutions within the world of fashion, but limited by an almost non-existing market, we end up accepting all kinds of jobs that distract us from what is our real job. Office jobs, designing for other brands or collaborations make us work more than 12 hours a day. On the other hand, we continue being invited to social events and featured in the media as the “new generation”.

A dual life between your creativity and a reality that does not usually lasts beyond ten years. As a representation of this ‘Doble Vida’ (Double Life), we split the collection into two parts: one in purely black and white shades with fits inspired by office attires. And another, in pastel tones, glitter, fantasy and more voluminous shapes. Wool, fur, lace, cotton, and silk are the fabrics of this collection connected by a seventies aesthetic and a sad mood. Reflecting thus the exhausting scene that we represent.
