Lara Stone’s Blackface by Steven Klein, French Vogue

'The ever controversial French Vogue lives up to its reputation in the October 2009 issue with an eye-popping collaboration with Steven Klein. The controversy is not about the usual sex and violence, but about race. Klein’s favorite model of the moment, Lara Stone, was transformed into a black woman with blackface & styling by Carine Roitfeld. This is not Klein’s first time with blackface, he’s done it a couple of times before in Vogue Italia (February 2006 & March 2004). But for some reason, this time it’s causing a stir.' -Homotography

Argentina’s Electric Youth! by Steven Klein

'Steven Klein took to Argentina in the recent Summer 2009 issue of cult magateen Electric Youth!' -Homotography

'Steven Klein, who lensed the whole issue, presents his vision of the rebelliously sexy Argentinean youth -- with a healthy dose of his trademark violence & fetish, and a whole lot of cheekiness. This results in a very unique and ultimately engaging feature.'

Faded Images

A pondering James Dean is photographed while having breakfast around the early 1950's. He's wearing what appears to be a navy striped jersey/pullover, and a navy blue polo shirt beneath? I'm not quite positive about the polo shirt but what a stylish and original outfit that can be worn all year round.

Wouldnt you kidda's agree???

The J.M. Weston brand has been making shoes since the 1890's. A French genius, the brand still has a factory running in Limoges and uses original techniques used by founder Eugene Blanchard started some 100 years ago. This shoe represents such luxury and a contemporary feel to it. I adore them and dream that this season will truly be warm and gracious, lol. Tis the season to be giving!

Bad Romance!

This is the official version of Bad Romance by Lady GaGa.

"A schoolboy uses his cellphone camera to shoot intimate interview with people working at a New York fashion house and secretly posts them on the internet. Result: a bitterly funny expose of an industry in crisis, during a week in which an accident on the runway becomes a murder investigation, and denial leads to devastation. Starring Jude Law, Steve Buscemi, Judi Dench, Bob Balaban, Eddie Izzard, and Lily Cole."

I rented this film over the weekend and I have to say it's brutally honest with perspectives that we've come to think of only as myths. Aside from the dark and moody characters portrayed...Jude law plays a transgender with a russian accent, need I say more??? He is brilliant, along with the rest of the cast! I urge you to go out and rent it.

So Unhappy But Safe As Can Be...

Leona Lewis has just released her new musique video for the song 'Happy' and that's exactly what I felt after viewing it for the first time. Gorgeous scenery, accompanied by exquisite lighting and very detailed shots from scene to scene.
I can always dig and appreciate a well made musique video, especially in this day and age...Come see about it!

Gucci Eyewear F/W 09 by Daniel Jackson

'Photographer Daniel Jackson lensed the Gucci Eyeweb Fall/Winter 2009/10 ad. The ads feature models Mark Cox and Karmen Pedaru.' Courtesy of: Homotography

Well perhaps not the 'Zack attack' you initially thought I was speaking of...but designer Zac Posen, shot this ad for Fanzine 137.
Models Coco Rocha and Ellen Von Unwerth shot two different ads, with very lively colours and an ultra-stylized quality to it.

Russian Roulette

Rihanna announces the completion of her fourth album, Rated R, out November 23rd.Rated R’s first single is called Russian Roulette. The song was written and produced by fellow artist Ne-Yo. I wonder where the inspiration for the title of the tune came from??? Can you say, 'Can't read my can't read my, Mo mo mo mo!'

Target’s Designer Collaboration

Jean Paul Gaultier is next up for 'Target’s Designer Collaboration'.

He’s the 3rd designer after such talent like Alexander McQueen, to involve himself in this series. Gaultier’s chosen the American woman, and America’s pop culture, as his inlfuence and some would say muse.

A powerhouse designer's creativity, will hopefully find compatibility with prices as low as the two-digit mark. Gaultier’s collection will be in Target stores from March to April of 2010.

Shame On Who???

"The fatter the general population, the thinner the idealized woman. And for all the public posturing and blogging, the only force that stopped people from buying clothes and magazines was the souring economy, not righteous indignation over skinny models. Fashion doesn’t just reject the overweight and the obese. It also gives the average a hard time, too; it makes them worry about every cookie eaten at the end of a meal or every exercise commitment that goes unmet. Fashion is a purveyor of status. It is a badge of honor for having outrun, outfasted saddlebags — unless they are floral-printed and made by Dolce & Gabbana. Those who can indulge in fashion feel their prize is that much more valuable.”

—Robin Givhan in an article on why being thin is still an issue of pressure amongst society today.

Where's the honey ?!?
