ItsNotYouItsMe "Back To The Future" Edition Salutes Los Angeles Drive-In "Cinemauto" Launching First Date With 'Selena' Film Screening!

"Gregory Nava’s 1997 biopic Selena starring Jennifer Lopez will be screened as part of the Sept. 18-19 launch of Cinemauto, a new drive-in experience in L.A.’s Chinatown.

Described as a showcase for diverse programming and a way to boost to local businesses, artists and nonprofits, the inaugural event, Cinemauto: A Celebration of Hispanic Filmmakers, will serve as a benefit for Homeboy Industries Art Academy and LALIFF for Hispanic Heritage Month.

Presented by JGL Creative — an independent, multidisciplinary creative and strategy agency — the drive-in events, headquartered at 713 N. Hill St. near downtown, will continue monthly through the end of the year. Included as part of the experience will be music and DJ sets, digital exhibitions and a community market featuring curated offerings like merchandise, snacks, books and other items from artists and nonprofit community partners.

Proceeds from ticket and merch sales will benefit LALIFF, Homeboy Industries, Junior High, Las Fotos Project, Food Forward and #XMAP: In Plain Sight. Per the organizers, Cinemauto will operate without the use of concession stands as a way to aim for zero waste and sustainability. Upon purchasing tickets, guests can pre-select “takeout” meal boxes prepared by restaurant partners that will be delivered on-site. To stay in line with COVID-19 safety guidelines, Cinemauto will operate with official COVID ambassadors, a COVID-19-trained production team, and “unique hand-washing” experiences on-site." - hollywoodreporter.com/rambling-reporter/los-angeles-drive-in-experience-cinemauto-to-launch-with-selena-screening
