"Chicago’s Deeper have announced new album Auto-Pain which is out March 27 via Fire Talk. It’s their first since 2018’s very good self-titled debut. “The whole idea of Auto-Pain was taken from Brave New World,” says singer/guitarist Nic Gohl. “They have soma, which makes you feel nothing, but auto-pain makes you feel everything. Let’s feel everything and see what happens at the end of it.”

The first single is “This Heat,” a driving and dark bit of mutant pop that comes with a video that has the band in hazmat suits. “In the dead of Chicago winter, there’s a particular withdrawal from sun exposure that presents a deep contrast to the color and excitement of the city in the summer,” say the band. “We wanted to bottle up the hope we feel on the first day over 40 degrees.” Watch the video below.

Deeper will spend February on tour in Europe and the UK with fellow Chicagoans Twin Peaks, and then in March the band will tour around SXSW with Montreal’s Corridor, which is well-matched double bill. The dates with Corridor kick off at Brooklyn’s Rough Trade on March 4. Tickets are on sale, and we’re also giving away a pair — enter for a chance to win below. The band have more European dates in April — all are listed below." - brooklynvegan.com

"Sonic the Hedgehog is getting his big-screen moment, and in preparation for everyone's favorite video game character's 2020 film, Atlantic Records dropped a major collab off the movie's soundtrack.

Wiz Khalifa, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Yachty and Sueco the Child teamed up for the high-energy "Speed Me Up," which fits perfectly with Sonic's fast-paced and confident persona. The tune, which dropped just after midnight on Friday (Jan. 24) marks the first release off the film's soundtrack.
