American Artist Raymond Pettibon Collaborates With Kim Jones In Exclusive Capsule Collection

"Timeless, an epithet that swirls round-and-round rather pugnaciously in the world of fashion. More often than not, this dictum isn’t suitably rationalized. But when it comes to high-end houses, in this case, Dior, this assertion always seizes truth, and that’s certainly the case when the French luxury Maison’s clothing and accessories are in question.

On a trend note, the iconic Saddle Bag made its first appearance at the women’s spring/summer ready-to-wear show back in 2000. Kim Jones, creative director of Dior menswear, dropped this hype-centered accessory comeback at his debut, on the occasion of the summer 2019 collection. And yes, we haven’t stopped propelling about the men’s iteration of the seamlessly-cut garments.

Character reference? Revered American artist Raymond Pettibon, prominent during the 70s-aligned punk scene in California, who’s recently collaborated with Kim Jones on an animalier collection, featuring one of Jones’ favorite prints: The leopard-skin.

What we continue to admire about Dior is its abiding devotion to craftsmanship, which this collection implies in its fullest, whilst embracing classic notions of sartorialism. The chosen pattern adorns the entire range, highlighting a captivating appeal to a lavishly-fashioned plethora of modern opulence." -
