TLC's Chilli Spills The Tea Chit Chatting Dream Tour With the Spice Girls For National Concert Week

TLC's Chilli spills the tea chit chatting dream tour with the Spice Girls for national concert week!

"If she could put together a dream tour package she hasn’t seen yet, TLC’s Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas says she’d want to tour with fellow 90s girl group Spice Girls.

"I really would love to go on tour with The Spice Girls. I think TLC and the Spice Girls would be super epic,” Chilli tells Billboard for Live Nation’s fifth annual National Concert Week that kicked off on May 1 and runs through May 7.

“We’ve spoken to a couple of the girls but hopefully in the future that tour can happen,” says Chilli, who adds that she would also enjoy a trek on the road with Missy Elliott and OutKast. “All of that would just make sense for our fans.”

Chilli and fellow TLC member Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins will hit the road again this summer for a joint headlining tour with rapper Nelly and special guest Flo Rida. The North American amphitheater tour is included in the more than 2,800 Live Nation shows being offered for $20 during the promoter’s National Concert Week.

Through Tuesday (May 7), fans can grab over 2 million tickets for just $20 for concerts from TLC, Hootie & the Blowfish, Goo Goo Dolls, Heart, 311, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Chris Lane, Bush, Jimmy Eat World and more.

TLC has been touring on and off since their first major trek, the FanMail tour in 1999.

“When we had our Fanmail tour we had Christina Aguilera and Destiny’s Child. It is all about the packages in my opinion,” says Chilli. “It makes it more of a fun time for the fans because they love many artists. If you have the right group together, it makes it super exciting.”

Their U.S. dates saw a spike after the VH1 film CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story premiered in 2013, followed by the release of a new album in 2017. TLC has since toured with New Kids on the Block and Naughty By Nature, Blackstreet, Mark McGrath, Biz Markie, Montell Jordan and more for the I Love the 90s: The Party Continues Tour.

"I think it is great when you’re going on the road and people want to see you," says Chilli. "We are known for our serious choreography, for our new and old songs. We have a certain type of dance for the hooks. To look out there and see everybody doing the ‘Waterfall’ dance to the 'Way Back' dance, it warms my heart. It makes me really happy."

With a catalogue that goes back more than 25 years, Chilli tells Billboard that she isn’t surprised to see a whole new generation discovering and appreciating TLC’s music.

"It is amazing to go out on stage and see the age range. It is crazy. There are people who are my grandmother’s age and five-year-olds at our concerts. It’s crazy," Chilli tells Billboard. "It has everything to do with the lyrical content. Everybody is going to feel unpretty, everybody has to wonder about their friends and if they are true or not. Everything that we talk about people can relate to."

Chilli promises new songs from their 2017 self-titled release along with classic like "Unpretty," "No Scrubs" and more on their upcoming tour, which launches at the end of June.
