Michelle Obama Chats Out Our Favorite Quote Of The Day!

Michelle Obama chats out our favorite quote of the day! Dishing about what readers can expect in her upcoming memoir, the former First Lady looked S'wonderful in a yellow candy-dancy dress as she opened up about her neuevo memoir entitled "Becoming" at the 2018 American Association Annual Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Michelle was quoted saying in regards to being the first black family in the White House: “Barack and I knew very early that we would be measured by a different yardstick. Making mistakes was not an option for us. Not that we didn’t make mistakes, but we had to be good — no, we had to be outstanding — at everything we did…When you’re the first, you’re the one that’s laying the red carpet down for others to follow.”

Michelle went on to spill the real tea on how she feels when folks only see her for her skin color, rather for who she is and what she’s done. “It’s just a shame that sometimes people will see me, and they will only see my color, and then they’ll make certain judgments about that. That’s dangerous, for us to dehumanize each other in that way. We are all just people.”

We agree 110%  with the forever First Lady in our hearts, when she said, "When you’re the first, you’re the one that’s laying the red carpet down for others to follow,"you're the first to get judged, criticized, and harassed. However, alas that's the name of the game but those pioneering and radical avant-garde renaissance artists shall time and time again prove with their art, who and what they are!

"Becoming" will be hitting bookshelves on November 13th:
