Kate Moss interviewed by Nick Knight about being shot by Mario Sorrenti for Calvin Klein

Model legend, Kate Moss talks with Nick Knight about the now infamous career catapulting 90's photshoot with photographer and then boyfriend Mario Sorrenti.

"I would wake up in the morning and he’d be taking pictures of me," says supermodel Kate Moss about her ex-boyfriend, photographer Mario Sorrenti. "I laid like that for ten days, he would not stop taking pictures of that."

In a rare filmed interview with Nick Knight posted on Wednesday, Moss gets personal, reflecting on the 1993 Calvin Klein Obsession fragrance campaign — featuring a now-famous image of her lying naked on a black couch — that launched her into international fame. Moss said Sorrenti's own obsession with taking images soon broke up the couple. "When you’re in a relationship with a photographer and they start abusing that relationship of being like, 'I want you to do this, I want you to do that'..." she explains in the video, wearing dark sunglasses and playing anxiously with a long necklace.

Soon after, Moss remembers how she moved to New York to shoot with high-profile names like Herb Ritts and Steven Meisel, and how self-conscious she felt about the stretch limos that were sent to pick her up. "I never was like, 'Wow, look at me on the [side of the] bus,''' she says. "You have to be a bit grounded about things like that."

Moss credits living with Francesca Sorrenti, Mario's mother, as helping her adjust to the fast-paced city. "Thank goodness I was living with her and not in some model apartment," says Moss. "Because New York is a hardcore place."

She also laughs off the tabloid attention and scrutiny she has received over the years, explaining that her family has kept her grounded. "Because I’m from Croydon, if you get above your station somebody will f*cking knock you down," she says. "You can’t go around with airs and graces at all and I would never want to. When I see people do that, I think they look like c*nts.

Sir, Yes Sir!

"Unless it’s a bootcamp in West Hollywood, I am pretty sure that it’s not how things go when you train for the army (and I know because I have been in the Army for 2 years #NoJoke) But, we have no indication of what kind of ‘Army’ those men are training for. Modeling is a tuff business so maybe that’s how things are … or maybe they have a pool party in just two hours, I don’t know. This Steven Klein like fantasy story was shot by Leonardo Corredor for Risbel magazine." -
