Anna Wintour Honored With Costume Center By First Lady

What a honor for a revolutionary business woman as fashion god Anna Wintour receives a special honor by First Lady Michelle Obama in New York today.

On Monday morning, as a prelude to the evening's highly-anticipated Met Gala, First Lady Michelle Obama—who's appeared on the cover of Vogue twice— cut the ribbon for the newly renovated (and renamed) Anna Wintour Costume Center at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Its inaugural exhibition, "Charles James: Beyond Fashion," will bow on Thursday.

As an audience that included Diane von Furstenberg, Sarah Jessica Parker, Donatella Versace, Marc Jacobs and Victoria Beckham looked on, the FLOTUS—wearing a Naeem Khan dress—honored the renowned editor with a heartfelt speech, praising her immense contributions to both the museum and to the fashion industry as a whole.

Wintour is known for her ice-cold poker face, but while browsing social media posts surrounding the event, we couldn't help but notice how truly, sublimely happy she looks during the ceremony. It's not often that we see Wintour smile, but when we do, it warms our hearts.

The cutest moment of all? (Besides Wintour's sweet embrace with the First Lady, of course.) Her daughter, Bee Shaffer proudly Instagrammed the below photo with the caption: "Now she's in a museum?! This is a lot to live up to...."

Did you think that Wintour was physically capable of getting so visibly stoked? Neither did we, but we really, really love it. - Via fashionista.com
