Naomi Campbell Makes Her Fall 2014 Runway Debut at Philipp Plein

'Cow Girl' Naomi Campbell has no age when it comes to doing what she does best - The Naomi Campbell walk!

While ’90s supe Naomi Campbell is far from retired, actual runway appearances from her are few and far between. Usually, she reserves them for special occasions, like one of Marc Jacobs’ spectacular Louis Vuitton shows (RIP), or Versace’s couture outing last summer.

This season, she made her runway comeback at young German designer Philipp Plein’s fall 2014 show in Milan Sunday evening, which was…unexpected. Plein is known for tapping big names — Lindsay Lohan starred in one of his campaigns, shot by Terry Richardson; Grace Jones performed at one of his shows and Alek Wek walked his runway (which was comprised entirely of black models) last season.

And while these celebrity appearances and spectacles have tended to make headlines, Plein’s clothes have not. He tends to favor a sporty, clubby look with a lot of studs. This season, for a collection Plein literally said was inspired by Dallas (Ring a bell?), the designer staged fire explosions, as well as a performance by Rita Ora. Campbell et al walked the runway in cowboy hats, distressed jeans and bedazzled cowboy boots. Suffice it to say, it was not all about the clothes.

So why, aside from money, did Campbell choose to walk for Plein? She starred in a campaign for the designer in 2009, so perhaps the two struck up a friendship. And we’re sure Campbell, who has been outspoken about the issue, was supportive of Plein’s decision last season to cast only black models.

The appearance has left of wondering if this is the last we’ll see of Campbell this Fashion Month. Think she’ll show up in Paris? - via fashionista.com
