Today In Musique History - Madonna Has A Number 1 Pie

Today In Musique History March 5th of the year 2000, Madonna scores herself a number UK single with the cover of  a Don McLean classic and surprisingly making it her 50th UK hit and the ninth UK No.1 hit.

The track was released as the lead single for the movie The Next Best Thing and was co produced by William Orbit. The video also lends a hand in equality by depicting "a diverse array of ordinary Americans, including scenes showing a lesbian and a gay couple kissing."
