All the (Crazy) Details on Lady Gaga’s New Fragrance

Wayyy back in September of 2010 we shared news thats nu-pop queen Lady Gaga would be working on her very first fragrance and guess what? the details are finally here as reported by

Lady Gaga, who has been teasing us with mysterious little soundbites (blood! semen!) about her perfume for over a year now, is finally releasing the damn thing, and this morning we have all the details about what is definitely a unique and innovative fragrance.

While this crowded, yawn-inducing, cutesy-bottle world of celeb fragrances often makes our eyes glaze over, we’re actually excited about this launch. From the fragrance to the bottle to the marketing blitz that’s planned, Gaga has sort of outdone herself on this one.

So here’s everything you need to know, according to a long and meaty profile in WWD today:

• The fragrance is called Lady Gaga Fame and will launch in August.

• It’s the first-ever black perfume. Once you spritz, the liquid becomes clear. A Coty spokesperson said, “The soul of fame being black was the intellectual foundation of the color of the fragrance.” Of course. They actually had to invent some new technology for this black-hearted juice.

• For all you fragrance geeks, the way the notes are expressed is unusual, too. Rather than having top, middle, and basenotes, there is a “trampoline” structure, meaning the notes come out randomly.

• It will not actually smell like blood and semen, unless those bodily fluids smell like a combo of belladonna, incense, saffron, honey, apricot nectar, crushed tiger orchid, and jasmine sambac. (Though we’ve never smelled all those things together so for all we know, it smells exactly like blood and semen. Stand by.)

• The fragrance will come in three sizes, ranging in price from $19 for a rollerball to $79 for the “Ultimate Masterpiece,” a heavy bottle (see pic above) designed by Nick Knight. The egg-shape bottle is a direct homage to her Grammy egg-hatching moment, and the top looks like a gold claw.

• Coordinating black soap, body lotion, and body wash will be released after the perfume launches.

• Steven Klein shot the campaign which will appear in the September glossies. TV spots are in the works too, as well as the de rigeur online film, also shot by Klein.

• Gaga will be making retail appearances (TBA) and is planning a launch on September 13 at the Guggenheim in NYC. A rep said, “There will be theater…she’s not the kind of person who just shows up and says hello.” [Ed. note: Please don't forget to invite us, Coty!]

• You’ll be able to find the scent in about 30,000 doors globally.

So will you buy into Lady Gaga’s vision of Fame? We think we already have.

Oz The Great And Powerful

The official trailer for "Oz The Great And Powerful" has been released which is the prequel to "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" that tells how the Wizard (James Franco) arrived in Oz became the ruler in a film by Sam Rami and also starring Mila Kunis as Theodora, Rachel Weisz as Evanora and rightfully so Michelle Williams as Glinda!

Synopsis - Disney's fantastical adventure "Oz The Great and Powerful," directed by Sam Raimi, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum's beloved character, the Wizard of Oz. When Oscar Diggs (James Franco), a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics, is hurled away from dusty Kansas to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he's hit the jackpot--fame and fortune are his for the taking--that is until he meets three witches, Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams), who are not convinced he is the great wizard everyone's been expecting. Reluctantly drawn into the epic problems facing the Land of Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it is too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity--and even a bit of wizardry--Oscar transforms himself not only into the great and powerful Wizard of Oz but into a better man as well.

Andrej Pejic is Filming a Reality TV Show

Duo male/female model Andrej Pejic has been a busy face in the fashion world and it looks like the Bosnian born model will be gracing the TV tubes in his own reality show according to
Well it’s about time! The always-entertaining, gender-bending male model Andrej Pejic has finally landed himself a reality TV show, Frockwriter is reporting.

Sources close to Pejic told Aussi journo Patty Huntington (aka Frockwriter) that Pejic signed on to do a reality TV show back in February, but for various reasons production was delayed and the show didn’t start shooting until recently. Apparently, production is currently underway in NYC, and the show will follow Pejic as he embarks on various job assignments.

Even more exciting, Pejic’s mother Jadranka Savic is also said to star on the new show. We seriously cannot wait to get to know the woman who brought the hilarious, braznely tongue-in-cheek and throughly unique dude into this world.

While the show is far from confirmed–we’ve reached out to Pejic‘s agency and are waiting to hear back–it’s definitely a rumor we’d bet on being true. Pejic is a no-brainer when it comes to reality TV show casting, and with his career at a peak, the timing is perfect. What’s more, Pejic has in the past asked his Twitter followers if he should agree to do a reality TV show, saying last year, “Should I do a reality tv show? I mean what would I have…to say.” Needless to say, the answer to that question seems to have been answered.

Are you excited for the show?

Update: A spokesperson for DNA Models, Pejic’s NYC agency, confirmed that the male supermodel is in fact taping a reality TV show. “It’s still in the early stages, but yes, there is a show being developed around Andrej,” he wrote to us in an email. Hallelujah!
