YSL Is Offering an Eye Shadow Palette Inspired by Facebook

Spend soo much time on Facebook that your feeling Blue White and Purple? We'll if your not YSL can put that "Like" on your face.

Some pretty unusual things inspire beauty collaborations these days: Miss Piggy, super hero movies, and caviar are just some recent examples. The latest? YSL’s newest limited edition eye shadow palette was inspired by…Facebook.

Beauty brands often use Facebook apps and stage special giveaways through the social media platform. But this is the first product we’ve seen that’s inspired by Facebook itself, right down to the color of the packaging.

According to Kiss and Makeup, only 1,650 of these were produced. You’ll be able to snag one of these “Pure Chromatics Devoted To Fans” palettes on YSL’s Facebook page (obvi) starting July 19. It’s unclear if the palette will be available in the US, but we’ve reached out to YSL Beauté’s press department and will update when we hear back.

Could this be the start of a new trend? The Twitter aqua would make a lovely nail polish, and Pinterest’s red is just begging to become a lip color. Imagine the marketing–and pinning and retweeting–possibilities!

Anyway, do you “like” this concept?
