Marc Jacobs Unveils Louis Vuitton's Autumn Winter 2012 Campaign

Marc Jacobs is chugging along with the presentation of their Winter 2012 Campaign.
We’ve barely had any sign of summer, but in fashionland it’s already full-on Autumn Winter 2012 campaign time! So forget bikinis and bellinis, we’re now focused on snuggly knits, wool coats and exactly which pair of ankle boots will be going on the shopping list. But there are some autumn/winter proposals that are more tempting than others, and it's Louis Vuitton who has us wishing the next few months away...

The Parisian fashion house's ad campaign picks up from where the breathtaking show left off: with a full size steam train - built from scratch for the show and stationed at the Louvre for Paris Fashion Week - and tons of the top models alighting with the help of porters hauling their luxurious LV luggage.

Artistic Director Marc Jacobs was keen to continue along this same track and built a replica carriage to fill with ten of his model commuters (and their four porters, naturally). To add to the already dreamy steam team, they were photographed by the legendary Stephen Meisel, styled by Karl Templer, had their hair perfected by Guido and were made-up by makeup maestro Pat McGrath.

'We wanted to maintain the comfortingly luxurious and old-fashioned journey that the collection represented,' Marc explains on this exclusive behind the scenes footage in the luxury brand's making of the campaign video. 'Opulence, the brocades, the beautiful cuts of the suits, and I guess, the distant romantic glamour of travel.'
