David Beckham Is The First Ever Male Model?!

David Beckhamis anointed the first ever male cover of Elle UK magazine's soon to be released July issue. In preparation for the 2012 Olympic games which takes place in Beckham's hometown of London, the futbol star chit-chatted with the British publication to speak no so candidly about what he sees in the mirror every morning when he wakes up.
“How would I sum myself up? I don’t know, I prefer other people to do that. “Erm… a little bit shy.”

I can tell you one thing kiddas, I know exactly what I would see and do if I woke up next to a Mr.Beckham...I would sing wakey! wakey! give me your eggs and bakey (bacon), ha! But enough of that, the cover was shot by photographer Doug Inglish where he found inspiration from actor Daniel Craig's now infamous James Bond photo shoot where he sleekly emerges from the beachy waters.

Elle Uk Editor in Chief Lorraine Candy said the following about having Beckham as the first male model,
"David Beckham is a national hero. He is an icon and Elle is known for featuring icons on its cover. This is a first for us on the newsstand and I believe he is loved by men and women alike. Anyway, who doesn’t want to see a picture of one of the world’s most handsome men on the front cover of a magazine?"

As one Frank Abagnale Jr (Leonardo DiCaprio's character in the yummy film Catch Me If You Can) once said, "I concur!"

"The US president, Barack Obama, welcomes the Los Angeles Galaxy to the White House celebrating their 2011 Major League Soccer cup victory, the third for the side. Obama makes jokes about David Beckham's age - and teases the former England captain about his recent H&M underwear campaign."
