When Julie met Julia

Well that never happens, but there is definitely no surprise here!
Delightfully spriteful. Meeting all expectations. Merly Streep does what she does best, deliver yet another best female performance of this generation has ever seen. Amy Adams is not one to get left out of the limelight either. Astoundingly convincing as a 30 year old New Yorker struggling to find her main purpose in life.

Julia Child, the woman who drastically changed the way American cook books were written. But as the story goes, in 1948, Julia Child was a simple and extremely optimistic American woman living in Paris. Her husband's job brought them to France, but Julia always craved for something to do. We fast-forward 40 yrs later, Julie Powell finds herself in a rut. On the edge of turning 30, works in a cubicle and watches her 'friends' achieve label success, she takes on a bizarre plan to focus her time to spend exactly one year whipping up 524 recipes in Julia Child's “Mastering the Art of French Cooking”. Along with writing a blog about her day to day unravelments.

Based on true stories, "Julie & Julia intertwines the lives of two women, though separated by time and space, are both at loose ends until they discover that with the right combination of passion, fearlessness and butter, anything is possible."
